Darkhouse

I do really like the lighthouses. This lighthouse (Cape Byron Lighthouse, Australia) looks amazing with its bright white colour against the deep blue sky, but I tried something different here. I hope it works.

Love will tear us apart

If you have to say good-bye to your friends and you would like to tell them how much you will miss them, tell it with a photo what they can hang onto their wall at home. This is it, nothing more.

The question is always the same

This pure little fellow was free as a bird a few thousand years ago, but in one morning he heard some noise and turned off his usual jumping track. Jumped, jumped when suddenly fell into a dark hole. `It’s not good` he thought. It was a dark and scary place. He looked up and saw the hole he’d fallen down. Ned Kelly

Let’s back to the Old Melbourne Gaol where Australia’s most controversial character, Ned Kelly was hang in 1880.

When I saw Ned Kelly’s death mask in a glass display cabinet lighted from all directions, I immediately took a photo about it, but I knew this is not the way how I would like to see it. I could imagine the mask in a dark room with lighted and shadowed parts. The photo needs lots of post processes to achieve my vision.

I’m not so good in hard photo processing, so it took more than an hour for me to get this result. First, I cropped the image and converted it into black & white. After that I did cut the head out, added 100% darkness to its surroundings, made the shadowed parts darker on the mask and added more contrast and sharpness.
